The Right Path

Imagine this…

Your child with special needs has just finished high-school!
Now what? Can he get a job? Can he live independently? Or did he just graduate to the couch?
With The Right Path, a step by step guide from school to adult life for students with disabilities, you will know all the steps you need to take now to help your child achieve a safe and meaningful future.

What if you knew the exact steps to help your child prepare for adulthood?

With The Right Path, there is no need to fall off the cliff!
Take the right steps to lead your child to a successful and meaningful life after high school.

“Won’t my child’s teacher and school provide me with this information?”

Well, actually, the bridge between school and adult life is very weak. As a special education teacher, I know what the schools can do to help with the transition, and with my experience developing and managing adult programs I understand the possibilities and how to best utilize resources.

As a mother of four, I know what it’s like to worry about a child’s future.
“How can I make sure my child is happy? Will their needs met? What can I do to make sure my child is safe?”
The Right Path will guide you, one step at a time.

Do all you can today to make tomorrow the best for your child.

My mission is to make sure that families with children with disabilities know the exact steps to take to prepare for the future.

The Right Path, includes tools to:

Learn the school’s responsibility
Navigate resources
Make informed choices for your child

Guidance. Support. Information.

Hi, I’m Claudia, a special needs educator, adult program developer, and behavior analyst. For over 25 years, I have supported families with individuals with disabilities, ages 3 to 65 years old. Throughout my career, I have guided students with disabilities as they aged out from educational programs to adult life. The transition can be complicated due to the change of laws and services that occur during this time. The information is not readily available and often inaccurate creating unnecessary stumbling blocks.

I support families to ensure their child transitions into adulthood smoothly and successfully.

I created The Right Path to help parents unlock the mystery of preparing for their child’s adult life.

Testimonial

“The transition from school age to adulthood can be overwhelming and confusing for the parents of students with disabilities. The term ‘falling off the cliff’ sums up the experience for many. ‘The Right Path’ by Claudia Wenger offers an easy to navigate, step by step guide through this process. The language used is relatable and easy to understand. To that end, a list of resources and transition acronyms is very helpful. I especially liked the inclusion of a workbook that can be tailored to the individual’s needs and where important information can be recorded for future reference. While there is a great deal of material contained in the course, having it broken down into 5 major areas of concern (Education, Legal Concerns, Government, Financial and Medical) keeps it manageable. A parent comes away from the course feeling as though they had a private consultation with a special needs attorney or advocate.”
